Tallangatta Fifties Festival...
ON THE LAST WEEKEND IN OCTOBER, the township of Tallangatta is Australia's home of Rock 'n' Roll. Tallangatta is located in North East Victoria & was relocated in the mid-50's - a time when Frankie J Holden & the FJ Holden car were cruising around town looking for a good Rock 'n' Roll night out.
The Bodgies & Widgies wore their leathers & Winkle Pickers, & Elvis was shaking his pelvis like no other. 50's chicks wore the beehive hairdo, bobby socks, twin sets & scarves - & Tupperware parties were all the rage!
The 50's were a time when a good pot of Bushells tea was shared amongst friends over the red or green laminex table, while tuning into the wireless to hear the latest hits from the likes of Johnny Young, Lonny Lee, Normie Rowe, Johnny Chester, Little Pattie & many more Aussie & overseas artists.
The 50's was a time when home was sweet home, & Rock 'n' Roll was about to change the world.

We saw Dean performing at last year's Tallangatta Festival - & he was an absolute "Knock Out".
It comes as no surprise at all, that Dean has been invited again to perform at the 2008 Fesival.

The Speedsters

This legendary Rock’n’Roll band has performed with The Drifters, Lee Conway, Gene Pitney, Roy Orbison, The Platters, Gerry & the Pacemakers, Freddy & the Dreamers.
The Speedsters will keep the dancers rock'n'rolling all night long on Saturday night - & will also perform live on Sunday to keep you rocking.

LONNIE LEE is one of Australia's true hit parade music legends, & now he's out there doing it all again!
His gigs are unforgettable - they're unique, exciting & really get the heart pumping.
Legendary Blues band Chain, call him the Father of Australian Rockabilly. Russell Morris has stated that "Lonnie Lee is the real thing".
