We were delighted when one of our very favourite gorgeous
customers, Kobe "Elvis" White, took off the Junior comp
Kobe was certainly "the talk of Wintersun", with quite a number
of our customers commenting on Kobe's incredibly mature &
professional performances - & the power of his voice.
Here's what the Herald-Sun newspaper had to say about Kobe:

Johnny O'Keefe
Johnny O'Keefe has been described as 'The Wild One', Australia's 'King of Rock'N'Roll' and the 'Father of the Australian Recording Industry'...
He was all of these, but above all, he was the greatest entertainer that this country has ever seen...
Johnny was Australia's Billy Haley & Elvis Presley - "all rolled up in one"...
With his backing band the "Dee Jays", Johnny took Australia by storm with such fabulous hits as: "The Wild One", "Shout", "She's My Baby", "I'm Counting On You", "She Wears My Ring", "Don't You Know", "Move Baby Move", "Why Do They Doubt Our Love", "Come on & Take My Hand", "Sing", "So Tough", "Ready For You", "I Thank You" - far too many hits to list here...
In all, Johnny released over 50 singles, 50 EP's and 100 albums during his 25 year career...
Johnny toured America, performing in 36 major cities and appearing on the top rating 'American Bandstand' & 'Ed Sullivan Shows' - all firsts for an Australian entertainer...
Australians were stunned at the news of Johnny's death on October 6, 1978, but he has left a wonderful musical legacy ...
Johnny O'Keefe was a Superstar and truly an Australian Entertainment Legend...

John "Catfish" Purser was the drummer in Johnny O'Keefe's backing band - the "Dee Jays"...
Catfish had a "dream"...
He wanted to see Johnny O'Keefe recognized for what he was - Australia's best-ever entertainer, the "King" of Aussie rock 'n' roll & the pioneer of popular music recording in this Country...
Catfish knew that every single rock 'n' roll artist in Australia to this present day, owed a huge debt of gratitude to Johnny O'Keefe, in "setting the stage" for their own successful careers...
In January 2000, well known Australian Sculptor, Dr. Alex Sandor Kolozsy went to work on the 3 metre sculpture...
Then after 5 years of planning, the Catfish dream finally came true...
The fabulous bronze statue of Johnny O'Keefe shown immediately above, was officially unveiled by Catfish at Wintersun 2004...
A fitting tribute to one of Australia's favourite sons - Johnny O'Keefe...
And a tribute to the "Catfish dream"...
